INTERCONTINENTAL PHU QUOC LONG BEACH RESORT - LUXURY BEACHFRONT RESORT IN TROPICAL VIETNAM

InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort
On a recent group tour to Vietnam I flew to Phu Quoc Island for the first time where I discovered its many delights. It is Vietnam's largest and most quintessential island.

I was privileged to stay at the new InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort in one of its 459 elegant rooms, suites and villas. These are set in private low rise and Sky Tower accommodation. The resort features attractive landscaped gardens and direct access to the white sandy beach and magical daily sunsets.

They have a range of room types available, including Classic Rooms, Executive Rooms, Emerald, Garden and Family Suites and Villas overlooking the ocean, pools, landscaped tropical gardens and lagoons.

My 49 sq m Classic Room was luxuriously appointed. It was designed with a blend of contemporary elegance and elements from the local Vietnamese culture and the perfect place to relax.

My spacious room came with a balcony overlooking one of the pools through floor-to-ceiling windows.

I appreciated the welcome fresh fruit bowl and the nightly turn down service.

My king size bed with custom made linens, accented with sublime Vietnamese silk accessories ensured the epitome of comfort. As I lay on the bed I enjoyed using the Flat screen TV, in-room sound bar and complimentary in-room WiFi Internet that could also be accessed throughout the resort.

I enjoyed making use of the in-room bar with its Sense Asia Vietnamese tea and Nespresso Capsule machine and the daily supply of bottled mineral water.

My large luxury bathroom featured a deep soaking bathtub with a view over the gardens, a large vanity and mirror, a separate rain shower and lavish HARRN bath amenities to pamper myself with. A large walk in closet provided ample storage for my clothes and bags It had a laptop-sized digital safety deposit box for storing the few valuables I had taken with me.

Even though I had complimentary access to the 24-hour gym, I was too comfortable in my room and pools to make use of it. It had the latest equipment from Precor, Life Fitness and Technogym, including treadmills, elliptical cross trainers, upright and recumbent bikes, adaptive motion trainers, both weight machines and free weights and a Kinesis machine.

INK360
INK360 the island’s highest sky bar and exudes glamour and style. It was designed by Ashley Sutton and is open from 4 pm till midnight. Each evening I enjoyed the drinks and snacks high up on the 19th floor rooftop while enjoying the unparalleled views of the sparkling ocean and the magnificent ocean sunsets. I can't remember the names of the cocktail I had, but they were very refreshing. They were made especially for me based on my preferences.

SORA & UMI
SORA & UMI is where I savoured my international buffet breakfasts each morning while I gazed over the ocean and pool views. I was impressed with the huge range of food items on offer from many Asian and Western countries. Each item was fresh and tasty. In addition to breakfast, each lunch and dinner time the restaurant serves Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine. It is open from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm.
SEASHACK is a relaxed beachfront seafood restaurant. Here guests can dine on comfort food and mouthwatering dishes in the presence of cool ocean breezes.

OMBRA is an Italian styled poolside bar and restaurant that serves pasta, salads, and freshly made pizza from their wood fired pizza ovens.
