Earlier this week the South Coast welcomed some of Australia’s top Instagram influencers who experienced the region’s best food and wine, pristine coastal scenery and beaches, extraordinary marine life and national parks.
Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock said, “I am delighted that the beautiful South Coast is being showcased through three of Australia’s leading digital influencers who collectively have an audience of over 733,000 followers.
“Their images will highlight Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla and the Sapphire Coast, inviting audiences to take a journey through these spectacular regions of NSW, cementing our position as one of Australia’s most appealing tourism destinations,” Ms Hancock said.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said in the year ended June 2016, the South Coast welcomed more than 10.7 million international, domestic overnight and day trip visitors who spent more than $2.2 billion in the region.
“We are putting our State at the top of every traveller’s must-do lists, and securing activities such as this special Instameet, provides a unique opportunity to reach a mass audience and showcase our incredible destinations,” Mr Ayres said.
The activity secured through the State’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, is part of the South Coast’s ‘Unspoilt’ campaign which has been a major driver of tourism growth to the region since its inception in 2012.
Instagram influencers who took part in the visit included Lauren Bath, Jewels Lynch and Sarah Hatton.
