The 2016 Perth International has announced that FOX SPORTS will be the exclusive domestic broadcaster of the tournament. FOX SPORTS is the biggest golf broadcaster in Australia via its extensive coverage of the PGA TOUR; European Tour; Web.com Tour; Asian Tour; LPGA and Ladies European Tour, along with magazine-style programming such as “The Golf Show” and “Golfing World.”
European Tour Productions will produce its “best in class” broadcast live and in HIGH DEFINITION across all four days from 13:00 to 17:00 Perth time and 16:00 to 20:00 AEST. The commentary team will be hosted by FOX SPORTS’ Brendon Julian with expert commentary from Warren Humphreys, Ossie Moore and Paul Gow.
David Rollo, Vice President, Director of Golf at IMG, the event owner and promoter, added: "We are delighted to welcome FOX SPORTS as our domestic broadcast partner. There is a great synergy with their extensive year-round coverage of the European Tour and the opportunity to broadcast to the eastern states in prime time and push back the finish times on Saturday and Sunday until 5pm local time is hugely exciting.”
The Perth International will be distributed by European Tour Productions and Asian Tour Media and will broadcast more than 2,000 hours of coverage to over 400 million homes worldwide across more than 40 different broadcasters.
The field will be headlined by 2010 Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen along with defending champion, Thorbjorn Olesen, and French Ryder Cup star, Victor Dubuisson, who was runner-up at the 2014 Perth International.
The field of 156 players will be made up of 60 players from both the European Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia; 30 players from the Asian Tour and six sponsors’ invitations. Entries for the tournament close on Thursday 4th February and the full field will be published thereafter.
Tickets for the Perth International start from $22 and are available through Ticketmaster. Children under 16 will gain free entry with a paying adult.
