Recently opened on February 6, 2016, Manatee Lagoon – An FPL Eco-Discovery Center, is a new, free Palm Beach County educational attraction with a dedicated area for viewing manatees up close. The 16,000-square-foot center features engaging, hands-on exhibits for visitors to learn all about these endangered and unique creatures as well as the natural wonders of the surrounding Lake Worth Lagoon. On cold winter days, the facility's observation deck will be the ideal spot to view manatee herds basking in the warm-water outflows from Florida Power & Light Company's adjacent Riviera Beach Next Generation Clean Energy Center.

Launched in fall of 2015, the City of West Palm Beach's Arts & Entertainment District (A&E District) has been enhanced by a wide variety of vibrant murals which add vivid color to the hip and happening downtown area, thanks to CANVAS, an outdoor street art museum show. The new district unites a fast-growing number of its top cultural institutions, as well as the growing art scene of the area. This cultural corridor spans a two-mile city radius, which includes institutions of fine art, theatres and live music venues such as the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, The Flagler Museum, Palm Beach Dramaworks on Clematis Street, as well as The Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach. The A&E District runs from Clematis Street south to Okeechobee Boulevard, and from Tamarind Avenue to the Town of Palm Beach. This area also contains CityPlace, a popular West Palm Beach destination for shopping, dining and entertainment, as well as the trendy nightlife strip along Clematis Street. The open-air, Italian-inspired, 72-acre property was built by a collaboration of developers led by Related Companies, the visionaries behind New York's Time Warner Center and Hudson Yards. A new chapter is expected in the New Year, as the precinct prepares to welcome new home furnishings retailers, all within walking distance from the new Hilton West Palm Beach, which opened in January 2016.

The grand reopening of the DuBois Pioneer Home to the public is expected later this year. The home, built in 1898 on an ancient shell midden, is classified under the National Register of Historical Places. The home will be open for free tours, and is located in DuBois Park in Jupiter.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programing is picking up some steam and expanding to Jupiter, according to leadership at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, the local authority on informal science education. STEM Studio, an extension of the 55-year-old nonprofit venue in West Palm Beach, will open to the public in mid-February at 1209 Main St. Unit #112. In partnership with Bricks 4 Kidz, the 2,000-square-foot space will serve as a social hub for educational enrichment in Downtown Abacoa. On Saturday, March 12, an open house, free and open to the public, will celebrate the new space and satellite programming.
The Cypress Creek Natural Area in Jupiter, is experiencing a $20 million expansion, set to open later this year with a restored lodge surrounded by hiking and kayaking trails. The Cypress Creek Natural Area currently encompasses 2,083 acres.
In January 2017, West Palm Beach will welcome The Ballpark of The Palm Beaches. This will be the second baseball stadium within the county, in additional to Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter. The new ballpark will bring two additional major league teams: The Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. The Miami Marlins and The St. Louis Cardinals already host spring training in Jupiter.
Norton Museum located in West Palm Beach has broken ground for the construction of its new $60 million expansion on February 6, 2016. The expansion includes a 42,000 square-foot West Wing and reorienting the entrance of the museum. The museum will remain open during the expansion process. The completed product is expected in 2018.
