SYDNEY PRECINCTS IN YOUR POCKET

A new pocket-sized publication highlighting the uniqueness of Sydney’s precincts has been published to help visitors and locals discover our Harbour City’s hidden gems.

The guide, The Little Book of Sydney Villages, published by the City of Sydney, showcases experiences on offer, including gourmet delis, laneway bars, markets, cultural institutions or lesser-known attractions beyond well-trodden tourist tracks.

The guide covers a lot of ground – from well-known favourites in the centre of town to the cutting-edge culinary hubs springing up around Green Square, Sydney’s biggest urban redevelopment.

It also features the broad choice of less well-known live music and performance venues on offer: from the radical roots of Newtown’s New Theatre which opened with the slogan “Art is a Weapon”, to Darlinghurst’s Eternity Playhouse, formerly the Burton Street Tabernacle.

The Little Book of Sydney Villages is available in English and Chinese at city venues, including the City of Sydney’s information kiosks, libraries and neighbourhood centres.

Tourism operators can request copies of the guide via email to citybusiness@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
