NEW HOTEL AND IMPROVED TRAFFIC FLOW AT SYDNEY AIRPORT

The NSW Government and Sydney Airport have announced plans for airport facility upgrades, ground transport solutions and improvements to traffic flow in and around Sydney Airport.

The broad suite of initiatives proposed by Sydney Airport to improve traffic flow include transformative road works at T1, T2 and T3, a ground transport interchange and multimodal storage and car park facility, and a hotel in the T2/T3 precinct to service passenger demand for accommodation near the airport. Including the hotel these projects are worth over $300 million.

In addition, the NSW Government is building more than $282 million in road projects around the airport precinct, including $40 million from the Federal Government, for WestConnex Enabling Works and other projects to address pinch points.

A preliminary draft major development plan (pdMDP) for the T2/T3 works will be on public exhibition for 60 business days until 22 September and can be found on the Sydney Airport website.
