Birds of Nitmiluk National Park

Nitmiluk National Park is home to a huge variety of birdlife. For visitors interested in wildlife, the Park has broad appeal, for many species are easily spotted. These include colourful species such as the Red-collared Lorikeet, Red-winged Parrot, Northern Rosella, the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, and Blue-winged Kookaburra.

The Nitmiluk region is made up of many different habitats - home to different varieties of bird life. On the sandstone plateau that rims the Gorge, you will discover the White-throated Grass-wren, and the Helmeted Friarbird.

During a cruise on Nitmiluk Gorge, you could possibly see variety of wildlife including the Darter, Little Pied Cormorant, Little Black Cormorant, Fairy Martin, Peregrine Falcon, Azure Kingfisher, Forest Kingfisher, various and honeyeaters.

In the more forested areas, you will find the Great Bowerbird, Blue-faced Honeyeater, and Redcollared Lorikeet.
