A Show of NSW Country and Outback Force at the NSW Tourism Awards

Inland NSW Tourism applauds the Inland region winners announced at the Gala 'NSW Tourism Awards' on their recognition.

CEO of Inland NSW Tourism Graham Perry says the highly acclaimed NSW Tourism Awards are recognition of the pinnacle of tourism excellence in NSW.

"We congratulate each and every one of our winners on their very prestigious win," said Mr Perry.

"The 'best of the best' of NSW tourism was celebrated last Thursday night, across an industry that collectively contributes over $30 billion to the State's economy every year."

The Inland region Gold winners were:
  • Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo - Tourist Attraction
  • Destination Southern Highlands - Tourism Marketing
  • Tri State Safaris / Mutawintji Eco Tours - Indigenous Tourism
  • Moree Visitor Information Centre - Visitor Information and Services
  • Neil McGarry - Outstanding Contribution by an Individual to Local Tourism

"In addition to applauding all our Gold winners, we would like to particularly commend Neil McGarry, one of the Inland Board Directors, on being acknowledged for his commitment and contribution to local tourism throughout the New England North West region."

"We also recognise all those who received Silver, Bronze or Highly Commended awards on their accomplishments:
  • Tamworth Country Music Festival - Silver Award in the Major Festivals & Events category
  • Brewarrina Visitor Information Centre - Silver Award for Indigenous Tourism
  • The Lodge Outback Motel - Silver for Standard Accommodation
  • DAG Sheep Station - Bronze Award for Unique Accommodation
  • Nundle Woolen Mill - Highly Commended in the Heritage and Cultural Tourism category

"We congratulate each and every one of these very deserving businesses on this achievement," said Mr Perry.

"While rigorous and demanding, the Awards process has provided these businesses the opportunity to step back and ensure that their products and services are aligned to the ever changing needs of the consumer.
