Tassie Country-Duo, The Wolfe Brothers to Headline P&O Cruises Australia’s Country Music Festival at Sea 2022

The Wolfe Brothers
P&O Cruises Australia has confirmed Tasmania’s country-rock duo The Wolfe Brothers will be the headline act on one of the homegrown cruise line’s popular Country Music Festival at Sea cruises in 2022.

A much-loved country music act, The Wolfe Brothers secured their spot in the line-up after winning ‘P&O Cruises People’s Choice Award’ at the Groundwater Country Music Festival on the Gold Coast this November.

The Wolfe Brothers, who are fourth-generation farmers and musicians, are taking a leaf out of their father’s book; he also won his spot performing on P&O Cruises in the 1970s with his band Midnight Revival.

Ecstatic after scoring the incredible opportunity, Tom Wolfe said it was a case of history repeating itself.

“Our Dad often spoke so fondly about the wonderful memories he had of playing on P&O cruise ships. The fact that we are now following in his footsteps makes us incredibly proud,” Tom said

“Dad used to love to share stories from his time performing on P&O because it was a real career highlight for him. It’s so special that we, as small-town Tassie boys, get to live out the life of adventure that our Dad always loved. History is repeating itself!

“Our upcoming performance on P&O Cruises marks our first time stepping onto a ship, and it’s a privilege to be performing at sea with P&O Cruises as the brand continually supports Aussie artists, entertainment, and has a genuine love for the growing country music scene.”

The Wolfe Brothers’ scheduled performance on P&O Cruises’ Country Music Festival at Sea is a refreshing change for the band who, similar to other artists in the entertainment industry, felt the pinch of lockdown and cancelled performances.

“Over the past two years, the cruise and live entertainment industries have really copped it. It’s reassuring to see that things are looking positive for next year with the entertainment industry starting to open up. It’s giving everyone a sense of normality that we’ve been missing,” Nick Wolfe added.

P&O Cruises Australia’s Head of Entertainment Brett Annable is overjoyed to welcome The Wolfe Brothers onboard.

“Country music continues to go from strength to strength in Australia and guests are eager to don their cowboy boots for next year’s country music-themed cruises and enjoy an exciting line-up of country music,” Brett said

“A revered country music act, brothers Nick and Tom Wolfe, and childhood friends Brodie Rainbird and Casey Kostiuk, are renowned for their spectacular live performances, making them a perfect headline act for our country music stage on the high seas, offering fantastic entertainment from morning to night.”

Perfect for those wanting to throw on their cowboy hat and dosey doe, P&O Cruises’ Country Music Festival at Sea cruises will depart from Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland in 2022.
