Plymouth 400 Commemorations

Plymouth 400 is the Massachusetts-based nonprofit that, 2009, has led the planning and execution of programs and events commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower voyage and the founding of Plymouth Colony in 1620. Plymouth Rock, a boulder in Pilgrim Memorial State Park, marks the place where settlers are thought to have landed on shore. The Mayflower II, a full-scale replica of the ship that carried the Pilgrims across the Atlantic, is usually anchored at the park. The Plymouth 400 commemoration has begun and will continue, albeit in different ways, through 2021 which is also the 400th anniversary of the first Thanksgiving. Transforming actual events into virtual ones and holding live events in 2021 allows the commemoration to move forward

Indigenous History Conference 29 and 30 October 2020 Slated to be held at Bridgewater State University, the conference is still scheduled but will be determined by COVID-19 guidelines. Plans for an alternative virtual conference are being considered. Illuminate Thanksgiving 2020 20 to 25 November 2020 This annual tradition will be held as a virtual event with partners from the Netherlands, UK and Wampanoag tribes.
