Cortina d’Ampezzo ready for a new summer season

the Ampezzo Valley
Cortina d’Ampezzo is a summer adventure and winter ski resort in northern Italy and is part of the Dolomiti Superski area.

Cortina in summer offers :
• the UNESCO World Heritage peaks
• 11,200 hectares of Natural Park
• 400 km of hiking trails and 1000 km of road-bike and MTB itineraries
• a 9 hole golf course, along with
• mountain lodges, restaurants offering gourmet and natural food.

Travel and tourism partners in Cortina have been sharing best practices to ensure a safe and relaxing vacation in the Dolomites.

With Italian borders reopening to citizens of several European countries and the summer season approaching, Cortina is leading the way in the Italian reopening process.

The Lagazuoi cable car was the first in Italian mountain destinations to restart operations, giving hikers and sightseers access to the top of Mount Lagazuoi.

Other areas will follow with lifts of the 5 Torri, Tofane and Cristallo areas during June and Faloria in July.

Mountain lodges, hotels, restaurants and shops are also reopening. Guidelines and regulations have been laid out for each type of activity to guarantee safety in all different situations.

Some restaurants and lodges will expand their outdoor seating areas, others will provide picnic baskets for an al fresco meal.

Mountain professionals will help guests explore lesser known spots and hiking trails.
