Operator’s global connections to put Christchurch on the world stage

The appointment of AEG Ogden as the operator for Te Pae will help put Christchurch on the world stage for conferences and events, says Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) Chief Executive, Sue Sullivan.

The leading Asia Pacific venue management company was announced as Te Pae Christchurch operator at the region’s major business events tradeshow, AIME in Melbourne today.

“A globally connected and respected operator like AEG Ogden gives Christchurch the best chance of securing the maximum number of events when Te Pae opens in late 2020. They have the expertise and experience needed to get the new venue operationally-ready for its opening next year,” she says.

“Te Pae is an exciting project for Christchurch and will bring benefits to regional South Island and wider New Zealand too. We know business events deliver both direct and indirect economic boosts to their local economies – they foster trade, export, investment, diplomacy, education and knowledge transfer. Te Pae’s direct impact will reach into every area of the supply chain – support services, airport, transport, freight and logistics, technology, accommodation and hospitality.
