Sonoma Wine Country Weekend making innovative changes

Considered one of the country’s top wine and food festivals, the Sonoma Wine Country Weekend returns in 2017 with expanded events and exciting new locations, on Labor Day Weekend, Sept 1-3.

The usually sold-out Taste of Sonoma will be spread out over two days at the acclaimed Green Music Center on the beautifully landscaped Sonoma State University campus. More than 200 wineries will pour literally thousands of wines, and more than 60 local chefs will concoct their most perfect pairings.

Taste of Sonoma guests will sample wares from wineries across the county’s 17 diverse wine regions, engage in conversation with Sonoma County’s winemakers and winegrowers, and nibble locally sourced and exquisitely prepared food. The two days will also include musical inspiration, and seminars and workshops.

That same weekend, winemaker lunches, dinners, and barbecues are scheduled countywide from Friday, Sept. 1, to Sunday, Sept 3. Rub shoulders with winegrowers, winemakers, and chefs, from pioneers to up-and-comers.

And the Sonoma County Wine Auction — one of the top charitable wine auctions nationwide — that has traditionally been part of the Wine Country Weekend will be held a few weeks later, on Sept. 16. For details visit sonomacountywineauction.com.
