The Ministry of Information and Communications has announced a decision to publish a postage stamp set on Ngoc Linh ginseng in 168 countries to popularize Vietnamese ginseng to the world.
The stamp, designed by artist To Minh Trang, measures 43mm by 32mm and costs VND3,000 for a sample and VND12,000 for a block.
It was issued at Ngoc Linh ginseng festival in Nam Tra My district, the central province of Quang Nam, from June 9th to 13th.
It will be supplied in the postage network from June 10th, 2017, to December 31st, 2018.
Ngoc Linh ginseng, which has the scientific name Panax vietnamensis, is named as one of the precious ginsengs in the world.
It was grown both in Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province, and Tu Mo Rong district, the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum.
The Prime Minister has approved Ngoc Linh ginseng as national product.
