MT BULLER EXHIBITIONS A MUST SEE THIS WINTER

Mt Buller has a reputation for being more than a ski resort, and this season is proving no different. The vibrant arts community on Mt Buller has been working hard and this winter season sees the resort showcasing a range of these talented artists, and their diverse range of works in a series of exhibitions.

Held in the Mt Buller Interpretive Centre, in the Alpine Central building, well-known Melbourne artist Nicole Haeberle’s “Into the White” collection of paintings has been on display.

Haeberle’s work has a strong focus on landscapes and travel, with her recent paintings inspired by the snow scapes of Mt Buller and Thredbo. Haeberle is represented by the Buller Arts Association and her work is available to purchase.

Following Nicole’s exhibition will be talented photographer Sealey Brandt’s “Three Years” display. Brandt’s work focusses on family portraiture and her overseas adventures to places such as Mongolia and Namibia. Brandt’s work will be displayed in the Arts Centre from 22 July to 6 August, with an opening celebration taking place from 6pm on 22 July.

Photographer and Mt Buller local Tony Harrington will then be showcased with his work “Buller & Beyond”. The collection shares an inside look at Mt Buller through Harrington’s lens, capturing the mountain in her many moods and from some unique angles. The photographs will be on display from 12 -27 August, and available to purchase.

Rounding out the season, contemporary Buller Arts Association artist in residence Colin Hyett will be showing his latest work once again after a successful 2016 exhibition. Hyett is a multi-disciplinary artist with a focus on painting and sculpture. This year his work will focus on abstract landscapes and the bird life at Mt Buller, it will be on display from 2 – 17 September.

Gillian Dobson, Group Manager of Marketing, Sales and Events for Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management, said of the exhibitions, “We’re really excited to have so many talented artists and photographers showcasing their work here in the Mt Buller Interpretive Centre. It adds to the rich offering of events and activities that guests are able to access in this unique environment.”
