Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS), expects to rake in a revenue of RM100 million, by participating and selling its packages and tickets at the 2013 Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents Fair (Matta Fair).
Its Senior Vice President, Malaysia Region, Muzammil Mohamad, said, MAS had rolled out irresistible airfares and packages, further discounted from its current market prices on its domestic and international network at the fair.
“Airfares offered are up to 55 per cent discount to all destinations that MAS flies to, for travel period from now up to 2014,” he told a media briefing at the Matta Fair at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur.
He said there were a lot of takers for popular destinations, including London, Perth and Beijing, for travel between September and July next year.
Muzammil said, MAS was doing things differently at the fair, for the benefit of its customers.
“Compared to our previous sales, we are extending the validity for the tickets, from one month to three months, and the fares will be available for travel up to mid-2014,” he said.
Muzammil said, the national flag carrier’s unit, Firefly, offered some of the best bargain packages, which included a free-and-easy package to Firefly’s destinations.
“Exciting shopping vouchers are also available for the customers, who purchase any of the packages,” he said.
He said, Firely also offered a total of 500,000 seats with fares from RM49, and travellers were encouraged to book in advance, to get even more options of flight dates for the value offer.
Meanwhile, he said, MASholidays, MAS’ travel and tour arm, offered family fun packages to entourage and nurture valuable family time with selected childfriendly hotels and tours.
