Cathay Pacific’s new Aria Suite raises benchmark for Business class travel between Melbourne and Hong Kong

Cathay Pacific
Cathay Pacific has officially launched its highly anticipated Aria Suite Business Class and all-new Premium Economy on selected flights between Melbourne and Hong Kong, starting 3 August 2025. These new cabins are featured on the airline’s retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which now operates daily on flights CX104 and CX105. Alongside the updated Business and Premium Economy offerings, refreshed Economy Class cabins are also part of the upgrade.

To celebrate this milestone, Cathay Pacific is hosting an immersive experience at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne from Thursday, 14 August to Saturday, 16 August, between 9am and 9pm. Shoppers will have the chance to explore the new Aria Suite and Premium Economy cabins firsthand. The event includes giveaways and a prize draw for a chance to win return Business Class flights for two from Melbourne to Hong Kong.

Following its Melbourne debut, the experience will travel to Westfield Chatswood Shopping Centre in Sydney from 21 to 23 August, giving Sydneysiders a similar opportunity to step inside the cabins and enter a second prize draw for return Business Class flights for two from Sydney to Hong Kong.

The Aria Suite redefines the Business Class experience with a thoughtful blend of luxury, style, and innovation. It features a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone seating configuration that offers each passenger direct aisle access and enhanced privacy. Retaining the best elements of Cathay Pacific’s existing Business Class – such as premium bedding and generous storage – the Aria Suite introduces several new features, including privacy doors, wireless charging stations, soft LED lighting, and a more intuitive cabin layout. Each suite is equipped with a 24-inch 4K screen, offering access to Asia-Pacific’s most expansive in-flight entertainment library.

As a tribute to Cathay Pacific’s Hong Kong heritage, each Aria Suite cabin includes a unique piece of art curated through the airline’s award-winning “Gallery in the Skies” program, featuring local artists who have a deep connection with the city.

This cabin redesign is part of Cathay Pacific’s broader HK$100 billion investment into its fleet, onboard products, lounges, and digital innovation. The initiative aims to position the airline among the world’s leading premium carriers. Enhancements extend beyond seating to inflight dining, with new menus created in partnership with Michelin-starred restaurants such as Yat Tung Heen, offering a specially curated "Hong Kong Flavours" experience on selected flights. Cathay Pacific has also been named “World’s Best Economy Class” by the Skytrax World Airline Awards for two consecutive years, in 2024 and 2025.

Frosti Lau, Cathay Pacific’s Regional General Manager for Southwest Pacific, expressed excitement about the launch, stating:

“We’re thrilled to introduce our much-anticipated Aria Suite – and all-new Premium Economy – on flights to and from Melbourne. This launch reinforces Cathay Pacific’s ongoing commitment to delivering a truly exceptional level of comfort and convenience for travellers from Australia. Bringing Aria Suite to Melbourne reflects just how important the Australian market is to us. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to elevate the Business Class experience. From the intuitive layout to our signature service, we want our customers to feel the difference that comes from genuine attention to detail – something that truly sets Cathay Pacific apart.”
