This is the newest and most technologically advanced pontoon on the Great Barrier Reef, and we’ve made sure to think of the future in the design and build of it. Launched in early 2022, at over 1003sqm, three levels and has a capacity for over 450 guests but numbers kept to a maximum of 250, this pontoon will be perfect for a day on the reef to escape the crowds. With 18 solar panels and 3 wind turbines, this pontoon will be powered using sustainable energy.
With a unique and easy water entry point for swimming and snorkelling, a fully functioning scientific lab for reef research and projects, our Reef Magic pontoon has been built with the future in mind.
Some fun activities you can experience include: Intro and certified diving, guided snorkel tours, one of the largest helmet diving circuits on the Great Barrier Reef and a huge sundeck with sun loungers. Beginner snorkellers can feel comfortable with an array of colourful corals and incredible fish able to be seen without even letting go of the platform or by exploring the nearby coral gardens the home of ‘Wally’ the world famous maori wrasse.
For those wanting to stay dry, you can experience the reef via the semi submarine, glass bottom boats or the state of the art underwater observatory where fish feeding displays are given throughout the day with an interpretive commentary.
Our Cairns based crew have expert local knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef and include qualified Marine Biologists, multilingual staff, Master Reef Guides and Indigenous Guides.
Share a yarn with our Indigenous Guides and hear the dreamtime creation stories of the Great Barrier Reef. The pontoon has a licensed bar where guests can enjoy cold beverages while looking out over the magic of the reef.
