Australia’s number 1 breakfast program ‘Sunrise’ will swap their Sydney studio for the Airlie Beach Foreshore this Friday, May 5, as they broadcast live from the Whitsundays.
Among the Sunrise crew will be fan-favourite Cash Cow, as the Seven Network TV program brings its entire studio to the Whitsundays for just one day.
The Sunrise team and Tourism Whitsundays invite locals to join the cast and crew for the outside broadcast from 5.30am - 9am on the Airlie Beach Foreshore.
Throughout the program, Sunrise will take a firsthand look at how the Whitsundays has recovered from Cyclone Debbie and will encourage Australians to pay a visit to this stunning part of the world.
The program will showcase how the whole community has pulled together for the clean-up, and now the area is back and welcoming visitors.
The show won’t just be in Airlie Beach: Edwina Bartholomew will be conducting live weather crosses from Bowen and Bianca Stone will be live from Hamilton Island, to really showcase the whole destination. Locals are encouraged to visit all three locations.
There will also be a live gig on the Airlie Beach Foreshore with Shannon Noll, the Australian singer-songwriter who first came to prominence as runner-up of the first season of Australian Idol in 2003.
Stay tuned to Tourism Whitsundays Facebook Page for live updates and location details.
The Outside Broadcast was secured as part of the Cyclone Debbie recovery marketing campaign led by Tourism & Events Queensland and Tourism Whitsundays.
The campaign will encourage Australians to holiday closer to home.
