Viet Nam's sophisticated handicrafts and traditional cuisine were introduced on May 6 at the Asia-Pacific Women’s Association (APWA) spring festival in Brussels, which drew women from 17 foreign embassies in Belgium.
In her speech, APWA President Sandra Thamrin said the event gave the ladies of ambassadors a chance to contribute to a stronger APWA and promote their countries and people to the member states and Belgian public in particular.
It is also a fund-raising activity for the member states’ charity organisations aiming to help women and children hard hit by natural disasters.
Festival goers enjoyed folk music and traditional cuisines to get an insight into rich cultures of participating countries.
APWA was initiated by wives of the ambassadors of Asian-Pacific countries in Belgium and the European Union.
