MP Deluxe Melbourne Shortstay Apartments offer all the space and comfort of home

When attending an exhibition in Melbourne recently I chose to stay in an apartment rather than a hotel. My apartment was on the 41st floor of a brand new 4.5 stars apartment tower called the MP Deluxe Melbourne Shortstay Apartments.

The MP Deluxe is one of six modern high-rise Melbourne Shortstay Apartments located in the CBD and Southbank areas of Melbourne. Unlike traditional hotels, the stylish 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments offer all the space and comfort of home. They are well equipped apartments, not just a basic hotel room.

My self-contained apartment was very clean, fresh bright and modern. It was a good size so I could move around without bumping into things.

I was in a roomy one bedroom apartment with a very comfortable queen bed with clean linen, bedside tables with lamps and a clock radio. Being so high up, and having double glazing and thick curtains, the room was very quiet for a good night's sleep.

My MP Deluxe Melbourne Shortstay Apartment featured open plan living, with dining table and 4 chairs, sofa, lounge chairs, floor lamp & coffee table. It was well equipped with modern electronic gear that included a large LCD TV with more than 100 Foxtel channels, a blu-Ray/DVD Player, stereo player, iPod dock and digital radio. In-room broadband access via ethernet cable or wireless router was provided so I could keep in touch with my family back at home.

The fully equipped gourmet kitchen had a composite stone bench top, a full-size fridge/freezer, gas cooktop, microwave oven, oven, dishwasher, toaster and electric kettle. A four place dining setting was provided with plates, bowls, cups, glasses, knives & forks, and spoons. I could have cooked up a feast with all the supplied cooking gear that not only included a frying pan, medium saucepan and large saucepan but also all the essential little things like salt & pepper shakers, sugar bowl, utility knife, paring knife, set of tongs, egg lifter, perforated spoon, soup ladle, potato peeler, grater, corkscrew, colander, mixing bowls, plunger, cutting board, and potato masher. With all this wonderful gear provided I only boiled the water to make my cup of coffee! Maybe next time I will eat in rather than dining out at the many nearby cafes and restaurants to make full use of all that is provided.

My stay in Melbourne was in mid-winter, so I appreciated the heating from the air conditioner that quickly warmed up the apartment.

The spotless bathroom had a shower with good water flow, fluffy towels, and complimentary amenities. The bathroom also had a combination front-loading washer/dryer, ironing board & steam iron. I managed to do a load of washing and drying while I stayed there as I was running out of clean clothes to wear.

My MP Deluxe apartment had a separate office with desk, chair and lamp. I would have made good use of of the office if was not so busy being out and about exploring Melbourne.

The private balcony offered spectacular views towards the CBD and the famous sporting sites of the MCG and Tennis Centre. The views were exceptionally good at night looking out the large floor-to-ceiling windows at all the lit up Southbank and CBD buildings.

Other services the MP Deluxe Melbourne Shortstay Apartments offer include a heated indoor pool and gymnasium on the ground floor and undercover secured car parking. There were people actually using the gym, attracted by the good range of modern gym apparatus it was equipped with (including cross trainers, treadmills, stationary bikes and weight training machines). I checked out the temperature of the water in the pool, and it would have been warm enough for me to swim in if I had more time.

The MP Deluxe is located at 241 City Road, Southbank, which is on the southern side of the Yarra River opposite the CBD area of Melbourne. It is close to the Crown entertainment complex, Eureka Tower, South Melbourne Markets, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Wharf Factory Outlet Shopping Centre, and the CBD, all of which I walked to during my stay there. If I did not feel like walking I could have hopped on a tram at the nearby tram stop and ridden to St Kilda or the CBD. It is good to note that trams are now free to ride on once inside the CBD area.

The MP Deluxe Melbourne Shortstay Apartments are ideal for a short or a long stay. They are well equipped for both business or leisure stays and provide all that is necessary for an enjoyable stay. The location in Southbank is ideal for all that Southbank has to offer, and the CBD is just over the river. Southbank is a constantly evolving, with more modern buildings under construction reaching too the skies and more cafes and restaurants opening up.

Next time I venture down south to Melbourne I will have to stay once again in the MP Deluxe, or at one of the other five Melbourne Shortstay Apartments towers to see how they compare. However, I am positive that they will just be as modern, clean, and offer all the comforts of home just like the MP Deluxe Melbourne Shortstay Apartments.
