1. Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Karnataka
“A feel of Madagascar”: The only thing i can correlate to this wonderful place is the movie Madagascar …you have alex motto mottogloria and all the animals. the old chimpanzee is amazing. the zoo has a wide variety of birds and animals too. its a must watch place if you are going to mysoredont miss this. 2. Nehru Zoological Park, Andhra Pradesh “One of the Best Zoo to see Animals”:Many kinds of Animal to see,.specially good for Kids…and people from Mumbai will really like it since there are no animals to see in Mumbai ZOO.. sodont miss Hyderabad Zoo if you are visiting Hyderabad. They have great facilities..like one can take their own Car inside.. but to be honest there is no need to take our car inside, since we need to get down again and again and need to walk sometime.. soits better to take a Battery car .. value for money…A Must Visit for Kids Reviewed by TripAdvisor traveller from Mumbai

3. Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, West Bengal
“Excellent”:You are running out of time observing all wonderful creations by god. Himalayan panda is an awesome animal only seen in this zoological park.Reviewed by TripAdvisor traveller fromoha, Qatar

4. Nandankanan Zoological Park, Odisha
“The best zoo in India”:This place was good earlier and used to be a normal Indian standard zoo. They suffered a major debacle where floods wiped out a major population of protected species. Now its a marvel recreated. The entry is well managed. There is a baby elephant interaction zone right inside Gate 2 (they only come out to socialise at 11 AM and 4 PM, so time yourself well). There are battery operated buggies for groups of 10, and you should try to take this in summer as its a long trek otherwise. The caged areas for the big cats are huge and you get perfect views of tigers and lions in their majesty. For photography, the move a bit to the side of the nets, and you can get unrestricted views (though you would need a very high zoom (30-40X).Reviewed by TripAdvisor traveller from Kolkata

5. Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Tamil Nadu “One of the best zoos in the word!”:Truly, this zoo is the most under-rated zoo in India, perhaps in the world! I visited the ‘world famous San Diego zoo’ many years ago but that zoo is nowhere near in terms of size, variety of species and layout in comparison to the Arignar Anna Zoo near Chennai. Spread over perhaps 500 acres, you can see animals in natural surroundings. Chimps, Siberian tigers, so many exotic animals can be seen. The zoo provides a good walking opportunity for maybe 3 km. There are electric vehicles for peole who cannot or do not want to walk. There are also cycles on hire. The place is green and is a treat to visit. The only restaurant offers limited options for food, but one cannot complain because food is cheap! Overall excellent experience, not to miss!Reviewed by TripAdvisor traveller from Chennai

6. Visakhapatnam Zoo, Andhra Pradesh
“A short trip to Visakhapatnam”: By the review of TripAdvisor, I was in dilemma whether to visit or not. But I’m glad that I visited the Zoo. One of the largest zoo of Asia with the animals in their natural habitat except for the caged birds. The animals from the big feline family are really worth seeing. I was happy to see it as drive in Zoo with battery operated vehicle for touring whole zoo.The vehicle cost nearly Rs 200 for 1 hr with seating capacity of 10. It reminded me of Singapore Zoo having same thing called tram. I’m pleased and surprised to see an endangered species of Hill Mynah, state bird of Chattisgarh there. It’s worth a visit. 7. High Altitude Zoo, Uttarakhand
“”a joy ride for children”: i visited this place with my family during recent visit of nainital. it is accessible through zoo cab service from mall road. after getting there anyone will get a birds eye view of nainital. there are some species of birds and animals which will surprise you. my children enjoyed the place very much and finally i would say it is a must watch place.Reviewed by TripAdvisor traveller from Jaipur

8. Himalayan Zoological Park, Sikkim
“Rare and nice”: I’ve never seen a leopard upfront , so this was something rare, it’s a snow leopard that is in his cage and it looks beautiful. Another rare sight is the RED panda. Never knew they existed either. The upkeep needs to be taken care of for these animals, not many visitors, but be prepared to walk a bit causeit’s all uphill in the clouds.Reviewed by TripAdvisor traveller from Bangalore

9. Thiruvananthapuram Zoo, Kerala
“Excellent Zoo ,well maintained and hugely great for the fees it takes”:amazing zoo, never thought it could be so well maintained in my state, the capital city zoo is excellent with both flora and fauna and the way they have put the animal is in there natural environment, excellently done, the aquarium nearby was a disaster ,the snake farm had eewen anaconda bought ,the flora or treesa re also well labelled and write up put.Reviewed by TripAdvisor traveller from Dubai

10. Assam State Zoo, Guwahati, Assam
“Best zoo in india…..must go”: Okay the one in Trivandrum is largest in india, but this is definitely the best…huge collection of animals…all living in comfort, no small cages and very close to natural environment.Large areas for animals…and you can see soo many monkeys and indianmuntjacdeers walking outside cages.A must go for zoo and wildlife lovers.Take a day out for this.
