IT'S ON IN THE BLUE MOUNTAINS THIS SPRING

The Blue Mountains’ exciting Spring calendar of events has been profiled in the latest It’s ON! regional campaign to drive visitation to the World Heritage Listed area. The campaign is an initiative of Destination NSW and Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Oberon Tourism.

The It’s ON! in the Blue Mountains campaign is in market from 17 August to 30 September and targets short breaks from Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, the ACT and surrounding NSW regions, with accommodation packages from Stayz available for travel from September to November 2014.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Andrew Stoner said, “The Blue Mountains hosts an impressive calendar of events and Spring is no exception, with the region’s World Heritage wonders celebrated in festivals showcasing scenic gardens, farmers markets, nature trails and our State flower, the Waratah, in full bloom.”

“Sporting pursuits will take centre stage when athletes compete in the Lithgow Flash Gift Carnival, while the whole family can join in the ghoulish fun of Halloween Lithgow, with a zombie walk and ‘trick or treat’ just some of the activities on offer,” he said.

It’s ON! events exclusive to the Blue Mountains are:
  • Oberon and Village Spring Garden Festival, 15 September to 13 November;
  • Wild About Waratahs Festival, 20 to 28 September;
  • Festival of Walking, 20 September to 19 October;
  • Leura Gardens Festival, 4 to 12 October;
  • Halloween Lithgow, 31 October; and
  • Lithgow Flash Gift Carnival, 29 November.
