Fantastic Fairy Family Fun Day

The "Fantastic Fairy Family Fun Day" will be a fun and exciting opportunity for families to spend a day out in the park while dressing up as fairies, pixies or any other magical thing.

There will be entertainment, stalls, fairy floss, games and a whole host of other activities for children and parents to do on the 24th September at Elizabeth Park, Scone, NSW Australia. The fun starts at 9am!!

The Fun Day is being organised by The Scone Neighbourhood Centre, which is a community organisation that supports individuals and families through programs and services created for community use. The Centre has plans to establish a community space in the open air central courtyard of the building housing the Community Centre and the Library. The garden would be based around fairies offering a mythical area that will excite young children’s senses and imaginations.

Lee Watts, manager of the Neighbourhood Centre said, “This day will be ideal for bringing families together and will be used to raise funds to help us construct the garden. The atrium is currently overgrown with weeds, very unattractive and rarely used.  Our garden will include sculptures, a colourful garden and flowers designed as the sitting area with stems as a walkway all designed to nurture sensory, creative and physical play opportunities for young children.”

Activities will be planned in the  garden to encourage young children to read, imagine and explore through sight, smell, sound and touch.  The design of the garden places equal emphasis on sight, sound, touch, smell and taste to make sure that all children, and especially those with disabilities, have the most exciting adventure possible. The garden will also be available during business hours for drop in visitors. The garden is for everyone, young children, older children, parents and children's groups.
