Team Penning provides entertainment for all ages as spectators can watch a team of 3 riders skilfully separate their designated three head of cattle from the mob and place them in a yard. The designated cattle are identified by wearing a coloured collar around their neck. This is a timed event and the team that gets its three head in the yard quickest wins!
The Australian Team Penning Championships will be held from Thursday 22 to Monday 25 September 2011. The good news is that this is not a ticketed event and entry is free for spectators.
The Championships will be held at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC), 503 Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth NSW 2340 Australia.
Bookings for stabling and camping are now available, with camping costing $20 per night, stables costing $20 per night with a minimum 2 night, and tack costing $12 per night
