Tourism Week 2026: Queensland Tourism Takes Centre Stage on the Gold Coast

Tourism Week 2026
The Gold Coast will become the meeting place for Queensland’s tourism industry when Tourism Week 2026 brings together tourism professionals, government leaders, First Nations representatives and industry businesses from 4 to 6 November.

Presented by the Queensland Tourism Industry Council, Tourism Week is a three-day program of ideas, connections, industry insights and celebration, highlighting the opportunities and challenges shaping Queensland’s visitor economy.

Three Days of Queensland Tourism

Tourism Week 2026 begins on Wednesday 4 November with DestinationIQ at The Star Gold Coast. Queensland’s foremost First Nations tourism forum will bring together First Nations leaders, tourism operators, government and industry to explore opportunities, share knowledge and celebrate achievements in First Nations tourism.

The program will examine emerging tourism experiences, contemporary storytelling, destination marketing, major events, tourism investment and innovation, while also exploring how First Nations-led experiences can encourage visitors to travel further and stay longer.

Thursday 5 November moves to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre for DestinationQ, Queensland’s leading annual tourism industry conference.

DestinationQ Looks Towards Queensland’s Tourism Future

Tourism Week 2026
DestinationQ will focus on the broader priorities and opportunities facing Queensland tourism, including Destination 2045, regional growth, workforce challenges, artificial intelligence, visitor demand, product development and investment.

Delegates will hear from tourism industry leaders and decision-makers while gaining practical insights that can be applied across tourism businesses and destinations. The program also provides valuable opportunities to network with colleagues, government representatives and tourism organisations.

For tourism operators, destination marketers and businesses involved in Queensland’s visitor economy, DestinationQ provides an opportunity to consider where the industry is heading and how businesses can respond to changing visitor expectations.

Queensland Tourism Awards Celebrate Excellence

Tourism Week concludes on Friday 6 November with the Queensland Tourism Awards at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The awards celebrate the people, businesses and events contributing to Queensland’s tourism industry. The gala will be followed by an after-party at The Star Gold Coast, providing a fitting conclusion to three days of industry connection and celebration.

Make Tourism Week a Gold Coast Getaway

Tourism Week 2026
Tourism Week also provides an opportunity to experience the Gold Coast beyond the conference program, with special accommodation and tourism offers available for delegates.

The Star Gold Coast is the home of Tourism Week, while Novotel Surfers Paradise is an official accommodation partner. Delegates can also take advantage of selected offers from Gold Coast tourism operators and attractions during their stay.

With DestinationIQ, DestinationQ and the Queensland Tourism Awards forming one three-day program, Tourism Week 2026 offers tourism professionals an opportunity to learn, connect, discover new ideas and celebrate the people helping shape Queensland’s visitor economy.
