Walk along the city walls and explore its gardens and squares the medieval city of Lucca

Lucca Classica Music Festival
The medieval city of Lucca is a city on the Serchio river in Italy’s Tuscany region, near Pisa and Florence.

It is known for the tree-lined pathways along the tops of the 16th and 17th city walls along with its cobblestone streets.

Visitors can walk along the city walls and explore its gardens and squares.

Lucca is therefore rich in architectural and artistic treasures and palazzi, and is known as the city of a hundred churches due to its large amount of historical religious structures.

Music festivals
As the birthplace of musicians and composers including Giacomo Puccini, Nicolao Dorati and Giovanni Lorenzo Gregori, Lucca is a city with a long musical tradition.

Casa di Puccini, where the great opera composer was born, is now a house museum.

There is the annual Lucca Classica Music Festival (23 April to 1 May 2022) and the month-long Lucca Summer Festival featuring music performances across the city.
