The annual Oaks Day hosted by harbourside restaurant 360Q is winning trifecta regardless of which of the three year old fillies pass the post in first, second or third place at Flemington on 'Ladies Day' November 7
The three groups involved in the Queenscliff-based event, Ocean Grove Evening View Club, 360Q and The Smith Family, all benefit from the generosity of the participants who support the fundraising event.
360Q mine host Barry Iddles will donate a sum of $20 per person who attend the Oaks Day three-course lunch that starts with an Entree of chicken karaage with wasabi mayo; followed by a delicious Sriracha salmon main course, and a lemon tart with basil syrup for dessert.
Sparkling wine, beer. a sweepstake, large screen TV (to watch all the racing action live) and entertainment by popular musos Kevin and Dee will also be provided.
The amount raised is then passed onto to the Ocean Grove Evening View Club that then uses the donations to support The Smith Family's quest to enhance the future of the younger generation.
Jan Ryan, Program Officer with the Ocean Grove Evening View Club said: "We encourage as many of our members to attend. Everyone in the community is welcome, ladies and gents.
"More the merrier it would add much appreciated funds that enable us to continue our support of The Smith Family and the 12 students we sponsor with their education from Prep until they complete their education."
Cost: $95 per person with $20 donated
