Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau: Driving Innovation in Business Events

Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB)
The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) stands at the forefront of the country’s business events industry, strategically positioning Malaysia as a premier destination for international meetings, exhibitions, and sporting events. Established in 2009 under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, MyCEB has played a vital role in strengthening the country’s global presence in business tourism.

A key driver behind this success is the Malaysia Business Events Strategic Marketing Plan 2021–2030, a forward-thinking initiative designed to elevate Malaysia’s status in the industry. Anchored by three core principles—optimisation, foresight, and competitiveness—the plan aligns with national policies such as the Shared Prosperity Vision (SPV) 2030 and the National Tourism Policy (NTP) 2020–2030. Through technology-driven marketing, innovation, and strategic partnerships, MyCEB aims to create a resilient and sustainable business events sector that contributes significantly to the nation’s economy.

With an ambitious vision to position Malaysia as one of the world’s preferred business and international sporting events destinations, MyCEB is committed to delivering high-impact events that enhance the country’s global profile. Its six key goals underscore this mission, targeting an increased market share of international business events, a top-five ranking in Asia’s business events industry by 2030, and substantial economic contributions to national GDP. The strategy also highlights the importance of investment opportunities, government collaboration, and high-yield tourism.

Malaysia Business Events Strategic Marketing Plan 2021–2030 underlines six goals:

  1. Malaysia to increase significant share of hosting business and international sporting events taking place in Asia.
  2. Malaysia will become Asia’s top 5 business events powerhouse by 2030.
  3. The business events industry will contribute significant economic impact, direct contribution to the economy and national GDP.
  4. Malaysia business and international sporting events industry will be yield-driven.
  5. Business events as key element in ministries and government agencies by 2030.
  6. Business events to connect and boost investment opportunities.

Malaysia’s diverse landscapes, world-class venues, and seamless accessibility make it an attractive choice for international events. Whether hosting major conferences in Kuala Lumpur, incentive retreats in Langkawi, or international sporting events in Borneo, MyCEB ensures that Malaysia remains a dynamic and competitive hub for global business events.

Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) showcased its world-class business events capabilities at AIME 2025, the premier trade event for the meetings and incentives industry in the Asia-Pacific region. As a key participant, MyCEB aimed to connect with global event planners, industry leaders, and potential partners to highlight Malaysia’s diverse offerings for business events. Visitors to the MyCEB exhibit  explored the country’s state-of-the-art convention centers, unique incentive travel experiences, and comprehensive support programs designed to enhance international conferences, exhibitions, and corporate events. By exhibiting at AIME 2025, MyCEB continued to position Malaysia as a dynamic and competitive destination in the global MICE landscape.
