The Riverina is set to welcome more overnight visitors following a NSW Government grant to assist with the construction of an additional accommodation wing for the Brolga Hotel Motel.
The accommodation provider will almost double its capacity, thanks to the $145,738 contribution from the Regional Tourism Fund, managed by Destination NSW.
Nationals MLC Wes Fang launched construction this week, and said the funding would go a long way in providing much needed accommodation for the town.
“The Riverina is the perfect place to relax, reconnect and enjoy at your own pace and is home to natural waterways, an amazing array of food trails and charming towns just waiting to be explored,” Mr Fang said.
“Initiatives such as the redevelopment of the Brolga Hotel Motel are crucial to driving visitation to this beautiful region.”
The new wing will incorporate two rooms that interconnect, which will be suitable for family accommodation, plus a room with fully accessible facilities, a first for Coleambally.
“Tourism is vital to rural and regional communities, contributing $19.5 billion to the NSW economy and directly employing 90,400 people,” Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres said.
