Well it’s back - The Annual King’s Cup Elephant Polo Tournament is packing its trunks and coming to Bangkok’s mighty riverside for its 15th year of ele-fun festivities.
This unique annual festival attracts people and teams from all over the world, including New Zealand All Black rugby players, professional polo players, Thai supermodels and a host of socialites and celebrities. The fun four day event, which includes Children’s Education Day and Ladies ‘Bangkok Ascot’ Day, aims to raise awareness and money to better the lives of wild and domesticated elephants throughout Thailand.
To date the tournament has raised over US$ 1.3 million (THB 46 million) which has gone to various organisations helping elephants and this year we are hoping to raise a lot more. The event also takes street elephants away from their often harsh environment and provides them proper food, vitamins and full veterinary care which they otherwise don’t normally get.
So mark the dates in your diary and we hope to see you in Bangkok from March 9th – 12th.
