The Tweed's Commitment to More Inclusive Travel

As part of its commitment to more inclusive travel, The Tweed Tourism Company has unveiled stunning new content to reflect the warm welcome that awaits all people visiting the Tweed, including LGBTQ+ travellers and those with accessibility requirements.

The new content incorporates an array of inclusive Tweed tourism experiences featuring family and couple talent with accessibility needs and married couple Cara and Sophie.

Sally Scott, General Manager of The Tweed Tourism Company, said that this leading content program is another step in The Tweed Tourism Company's ongoing mission to promote the region's accessible and inclusive holiday experiences.

"The Tweed is a region dedicated to providing a warm welcome for all travellers and the new content brings this purpose to life as part of our broader commitment to greater inclusivity in travel."

"We know that the holiday decision-making process is made easier when we feel included and reflected in marketing messages and this important project aims to inspire all travellers to plan a great Tweed holiday with ease and confidence."

"These stunning new visuals are both an invitation for LGBTQ+ travellers and people with access needs to visit the Tweed, as well as being a guide to some of our region's wonderful and welcoming holiday experiences."

This first phase of the Tweed's inclusive tourism content program follows other recent initiatives including a hosted media visit with Julie Jones, creator of Have Wheelchair Will Travel, and her son Braeden, who lives with cerebral palsy, which resulted in national promotion of accessible experiences across the region.

Accessible holiday options are also now more easily found via visitthetweed.com.au with a dedicated guide to some of the accessible experiences around the region that cater to various travel needs, including accommodation, activities and dining.

The Tweed Tourism Company, along with a range of Tweed tourism businesses, is also a proud member of GALTA, Australia's LGBTQ+ Travel Association which connects LGBTQ+ travellers with welcoming businesses around Australia. Through this partnership, the Tweed's inclusive experiences reach a national audience of LGBTQ+ travellers seeking the perfect getaway.

Tweed Shire Council's Manager, Destination Communication & Customer Experience, Tiffany Stodart, reinforced the region's commitment to inclusive experiences for all people.

"This initiative by The Tweed Tourism Company is just one step in our ongoing collective journey towards a more inclusive and welcoming destination for all."

"By celebrating diversity and accessibility, we're not just inviting all visitors to the Tweed, we're ensuring that everyone feels at home here and that they are welcome to explore the region and create unforgettable holiday memories."

The Tweed's accessible and inclusive content shoot includes a range of still images and video and features a wide range of Tweed businesses that cater to various travel needs and are actively marketing their business in the inclusive tourism space.

Featured in the family and couple accessibility shoots are Tweed experiences including: Bastion Lane Espresso, Chesson Lodge, Apex Dining, Tweed Regional Galley & Margaret Olley Art Centre, Husk Farm Distillery and Tweed Holiday Parks Pottsville South, Baked at Ancora, Livvi's Place at Goorimahbah, North Star Holiday Resort, Marine Discovery Centre Hastings Point, Tweed Regional Museum and the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.
