DIFF 2023 Finale: Eliminating distances to get closer

The grand finale, themed ‘Light up the Borderless World’, of Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023 has taken place. After four dramatic competition nights, two fireworks teams from Italy and France beat other heavyweights to get tickets to compete for the championship.

After more than a month of competing in the qualifying rounds, two fireworks teams from France and Italy soon returned to Da Nang to prepare for the finale show.

In his remarks at the finale night, Da Nang City People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh said that DIFF 2023, the city's own brand event, has returned after a three-year hiatus due to Covid-19 with the participation of 8 teams around the world.

Chairman Chinh hoped that the art of fireworks with the sublimation and harmony of light, colours and music in the previous four competition nights created unforgettable emotions and experience for local residents, and tourists at both home and abroad.

With the main theme of 'Light up the borderless world', Da Nang wants to convey a message of waving the geographical distance so that countries and ethnic groups worldwide come closer together with the desire for peace, love and hope for good things.

The special musical program before the competition featured famous Vietnamese singers, including Thu Minh, Van Mai Huong, Mai Tien Dung and Minh Ngoc.

Remarkably, the final teams are required to include Vietnamese song.

Martarello Group (Italy) performed “The power of art” lasting 20 minutes 47 seconds. The harmony between classic and modern, between darkness and light was the message the Italian team wants to convey during their performance.

The rhythm of the performance harmonizes with each melody. Including the piano version of “River Flow In You” depicting the “flow” of the Han River, the vibrant rock song “Gossip” as giant fireworks explode in the sky, in addition to the EDM version “Wake Me Up" is modified according to the country sound and especially the classic, majestic Italian features through the classic soundtrack of all time "Good-Evil-Devil".

In particular, the song "Vietnam in me" by Thuy Chi push the performance to the peak.

Team Arteventia (France) ends this year's DIFF with a 20-minute 33-second performance titled "Light up with love". In which, there are melodies such as BTS's "Dynamite", Lady Gaga's "Stupid Love", the remixed love song "La vie en rose" or the majestic "Non, je ne regrette rien",... Especially, the song "Bay" (Fly), composed by Nguyen Hai Phong through Thu Minh's voice has blown up the performance.

French fireworks team was selected as the champion team at DIFF 2023.

In addition, the Organising Board also awarded DIFF 2023 side prizes such as: The 'Creative' award went to the Polish team and the 'Audience’s Favorite award went to the Finnish team.

After 4 nights of competition with the topics "Peace for mankind", "Love without borders", "Conquer dreams", "Dance of nature", all 8 teams participating in this year's DIFF include: Vietnam, Finland, Canada, France, Australia, Italy, Poland, England that have all shown their creativity and left a deep impression on the audience. Along with that is the spectacular fireworks display.

DIFF 2023 closed but the city's dreams and aspirations will continue to be nurtured and spread.
