Sanya to introduce laws to protect Egret Park

Egret Park
Sanya in Hainan, China, is to introduce laws and regulations to protect Egret Park in the city’s current drive to unite environmental protection and urban construction.

Egret Park, situated by the Lingchun River, covers around 26.7 hectares. It has been one of the most popular places in the city for local residents and tourists to relax since it opened to the public in 2002.

However, as Sanya is transformed into an international tourism city, excessive use has also been causing environmental problems for Egret Park. Some tourists have failed to show respect for the beautiful place, causing the lawn and trees there to be damaged and abused.

Egret Park is one of the most pristine and relaxing places you will find within the city, offering a wide array of plant and bird life for anyone looking for a quiet midday oasis. The local government is currently considering new regulations for the better management of Egret Park in an effort to provide stronger protection for Sanya’s urban ecological resources.
