New Partnership Between World Expeditions and Flight Centre Challenges Travellers to Raise $1 Million for Charity

Adventure travel specialist, World Expeditions Travel Group and Flight Centre are partnering on a program to raise $1 million dollars for charity – and looking for adventurous travellers who want to give back while they travel.

The Community Million Dollar Challenge is a unique collaborative initiative designed to harness the collective energy of adventurous travellers.

The Challenge is comprised of 12 iconic adventures, each of which is tailor-made for the Million Dollar Challenge and timed to operate during the optimum time for that challenge.

World Expeditions is offering one challenge a month between January 2020 to December 2021 (24 months) to destinations as diverse as Tasmania, Vietnam and Cambodia, Peru, Nepal, Europe, Africa, China and New Zealand, with each of the adventures chosen for its widespread appeal.

The charities which will benefit from the proceeds include charities as RUOK, Redkite, SolarBuddy, Foodbank and Youngcare.

According to World Expeditions' CEO, Sue Badyari, the idea behind the Community Million Dollar Challenge was to encourage people to lead healthier lifestyles, to become global citizens and to go deeper during their travel experiences, while raising funds for great causes.

“We know that the power of people to forge change can and does happen,” Ms Badyari said. “Our vision is to provide a platform for travellers to use their collective voice to raise awareness and funds for each of these worthwhile charities.”

“With a maximum of 20 travellers each month for two years and each traveller raising at least $2000, we are on track to raise $1 million dollars for charity,” she said.

Travellers book their trips exclusively at Flight Centre, with World Expeditions managing ground arrangements and Go Fundraise offering advice about fundraising. World Expeditions will donate the first $100 to each participant at the time of registration.
