The Langham Auckland launches new Crystal Room and Gallery Rooms

The Langham Auckland
The Langham Auckland has just increased its already superior portfolio of corporate and leisure facilities with the $2.4 million refurbishment of the Crystal Room and four new Gallery Rooms.

These exquisite new rooms, ideal for business meetings of any size, bring the luxury hotel’s total number of venues to 13. This includes The Great Room, home to numerous black tie awards including the NZ Cricket Awards and the New Zealander of the Year Awards. It is still the largest pillar-less ballroom of any hotel in Auckland, seating 900 for dinner or 1400 for cocktails.

The new Gallery Rooms officially opened their doors on the site of the old SPE (Some Place Else) Bar in April when the demand for more meeting rooms/breakout rooms to support large events in The Great Room had increased.

“At the Langham Auckland we host well over 1000 individual events per year and we felt that this was a much better use of the space, answering the needs of our key Meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) clients,” says director of sales and marketing Michael Shah.

The state-of-the-art venues have full HD digital vision providing simple intuitive wireless connectivity for iPads or PCs so presenters no longer have to be tied to a cable while they make their presentations.

Presenters can also share the screen with their colleagues and other attendees to collaborate and get more done on-site, and, they can webcast their meeting or bring remote attendees worldwide to their meeting screens to create better reach and efficiency.

Slides, video and messaging can also be displayed in perfect detail and colour and ultra-wide screens, multimedia and video support delivers a high impact with your audience or attendees.

“Opening this suite of rooms consolidates our position as one of the leading MICE Venues in New Zealand, and certainly the leading events hotel in Auckland. Thanks to the number (13 in total), variety of sizes (4 to 1400 people), quality of rooms, audio-visual capabilities, our great reputation for food and beverage – and most importantly professional, dedicated staff who provide a sense of true welcome and hospitality – we believe we provide an unequalled experience,” says Mr Shah.

The Langham has also opened its new Crystal Room, a stunning venue which can accommodate up to 180 guests, making it an excellent breakout space for exhibitions and conferences.

Previously the Waitemata Room, which divided into three long narrow rooms, the refurbishment has seen the venue become lighter, brighter and more functional by changing the configuration to divide into two more practical-sized rooms.

Beneath its glittering crystal chandeliers, Crystal’s guests can enjoy the sophistication of its luxurious décor and private foyer and bar at exclusive dinners and high-end events while never needing to leave the building.

“We have Auckland’s best spa, Chuan Spa, based on traditional Chinese medicine, an amazing interactive dining experience at Eight, executive transfers, full-service concierge, The Langham Club Lounge on the 10th floor for VIPs, our beautiful Langham Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood experience, for accompanying people to enjoy – and again, all supported by 425 well-trained and professional staff,” says Mr Shah.
