The Kosanji Temple in Japan

Witness the power of filial piety at Kosanji Temple, founded in 1936 by businessman Kozo Kosanji as a token of devotion to his mother. 

Constructed over 30 years, the buildings in the temple compound were patterned after other famous religious structures in Japan, including Nikko’s Yomeimon Gate and the Phoenix Hall of Byodoin Temple in Kyoto.

Choseikaku Villa, the private retreat for his mother, influenced by Japanese-Western hybrid design, was built with the finest wood and adorned with distinctive artworks. 

The final structure dedicated to Kosanji’s familial ties is the Hill of Hope, a dazzling white marble garden located at the top of the hill.
