Over 1000 high end guests from the world of luxury travel - including agents and operators from 15 key Latin American source markets as well as travel experiences and products from across the world - attended the seventh edition of Travelweek Sao Paulo by ILTM this week. Meeting in one-to-one appointments with the agents of their choice, exhibitors reported meeting “more contacts, more opportunities, more insights and more high-quality Latin American markets than ever before.”
João Annibale, Regional Director of Leading Hotels of the World commented:
"Travelweek is the perfect meeting place for global destinations and properties to come together to promote and deliver the best experiences for the most demanding clients in luxury tourism market. This year we have met with more contacts, developed more opportunities, discovered more insights and explored many more high-quality Latin American markets.”
First time exhibitor Hamza Eddahbi of Maana Travel in Morocco added:
“We already knew most of the top operators in Rio and Sao Paulo, but Travelweek Sao Paulo by ILTM has introduced us to some really important agencies from some 21 other key cities in Brazil as well as Argentina, Chile and Peru – it has been a wonderful experience, and I am looking forward to following up with everyone next week!”
Rogerio Araujo of Qatar Airways said:
“Travelweek Sao Paulo by ILTM is the most important luxury travel trade show in Latin America – a unique opportunity to meet with a really high qualified audience. We’ve introduced a new business class seat at the show for the first time and received a really positive response – we are delighted.”
Ricardo Hernandéz, Director of Singular, Colombia added:
"I have met many new contacts at Travelweek Sao Paulo by ILTM this year. The buyers are very well selected and they have a real interest in the type of products I offer in Colombia. I plan to always take part in this exceptionally professional event."
Heang Chhor of Vila da Santa, Buzios, who took part in a dedicated event to meet the international and Brazilian media who were accredited to attend Travelweek Sao Paulo by ILTM added:
"I was lucky enough to take part in the Travelweek Press Roundtables event which was a very effective way to connect with media. It was really great - well done Travelweek! I'm very happy with this exclusive opportunity."
The agents and operators who attended this year were also delighted with their experience.
Maria Elizabeth Atalia Buffara, Director of Agencia Sete Mares in Brazil said:
“We would never miss Travelweek – it’s vital for developing new contacts as well as reinforcing existing relationships. It really is a must attend for every top producing agent in Brazil, not to mention Latin America.”
Cristopher Conde Dominiguez of btc in Mexico said:
“I’ve met with exactly the type of new suppliers I was looking for – Portugal and Africa are very big right now with my clients so it’s been great to develop new, high-end relationships in both these areas as well as others. It’s been even better this year than last.”
Maria Jose Carcavallo de Pereyra Iraola of Tusismo Tastil in Argentina said:
“This has been a great show with really high quality suppliers. We continue to be amazed by the organisation and we particularly loved the Portuguese exhibitors and so many Preferred members.”
Guiljerme Burti Jardim of Brazil’s Live Travel commented:
“I always attend Travelweek. It’s essential to meet new experiences and I hope the new ILTM Latin America next year will bring me even more opportunities. I am looking forward to next year already.”
Izabel Costa Lima of TopTravellers in Brazil also said:
“An amazing Travelweek with fantastic new experiences for my clients – it’s even more luxurious and well organized than in previous years. We met with exactly the types of experiences we wanted to and are looking forward to next year’s ILTM Latin America being even more accessible.”
Simon Mayle, Travelweek Sao Paulo by ILTM Event Manager says:
“Argentina’s current economic rebound and Brazil’s emergence from its recession are already both helping to lift the strong regional growth in 2017. Mexico’s economy is also forecast to keep growing – all great news for a luxury travel industry that recognises the huge value of the future of Latin American luxury travel in the short, medium and long term.”
