Can Tho: Giving 400 Tet gifts to small traders of Cai Rang floating market

With the desire to bring a warm Tet to every citizen, on the morning of January 25, leaders of the Can Tho City People's Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Cai Rang District, and the Can Tho City Tourism Association went to Ships visit and give Tet gifts to small traders on Cai Rang floating market.

The delegation gave 400 gifts, each worth 500 thousand VND including: Cakes, jams, cash... with a total value of 200 million VND from the socialization mobilization budget.

“We were very touched by the city leaders to visit and give Tet gifts. In the past few days, the consumption of goods has been quite good, hopefully the floating market will be as bustling as before, "said a female small businesswoman from Dong Thap.

According to a representative of the leadership of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho city, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Tiger in 2022, the city will organize a delegation to visit, encourage and give gifts to merchants on the floating market with the wish. cheering and encouraging to create vitality and joy for people during Tet and business in the new year will be more favorable.

Cai Rang floating market is located on Can Tho river, about 6 km from Ninh Kieu wharf, attracting a lot of domestic and international tourists' attention when coming to Can Tho. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of the City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that visitors to Can Tho last year were estimated at 2.1 million, down 62.2%; total tourism revenue is estimated at 1,375 billion VND, down 56.6% over the same period.
