Hue to hold hot air balloon festival

Tourists watched a hot air balloon festival when visiting Hue City during the long holiday of Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1).

The festival took place at Ngo Mon Square in the former imperial capital from April 28 to May 1, featuring ten hot air balloons from the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, and Viet Nam.

Visitors took a balloon ride to see Hue City from a different perspective. In addition, numerous interesting activities included a Night Glow program on April 29 and a photo contest was available during the special occasion, which is promising to bring wonderful moments for tourists.

The balloon festival is part of the 7th Hue traditional craft village in the central coast city of Hue in Thua Thien-Hue Province from April 28 to May 2.

The craft village festival included various activities such as exhibition of drawings, embroidery, and tailoring at Ly Tu Trong Park.

Especially, on April 30, there was an ao dai (Vietnamese long dress) festival with its theme “Art and Ao dai” at Truong Tien Bridge in Hue City, an ao dai drawing contest, art performance and a cycling parade by Hue students and traditional artisans.

Furthermore, the Hue Imperial Citadel will be opened to public viewing at night from April 22 to September 20, featuring performances of royal ceremonies, music and martial arts. Opening hours are from 7pm to 10pm daily. Admission tickets cost VND120,000 each for Vietnamese guests and VND150,000 each for foreigners.
