Ever dreamed of getting paid to travel the world and post about it? ESCAPE – Australia’s go-to for expert travel inspiration and advice – is giving one adventurous Aussie the chance of a lifetime: to become their new Roaming Travel Reporter.

For the first time ever, an open search - dubbed the ‘Greatest Travel Job’ - is underway to help one lucky Aussie score their dream job as a paid content creator - travelling to six destinations in six months, in partnership with ESCAPE and Inspiring Vacations.

To unearth the perfect candidate, ESCAPE will be scouring social media in search of the next generation of travel content creators who possess not just a passport but the ability to shoot epic content.

Announcing the unrivalled opportunity, Head of Food, Travel and Health Kerrie McCallum said: “This is the reel deal. We’re on the hunt for someone who knows how to hook an audience, ride the trends, and turn everyday travel moments into standout stories.

“It’s not just about the places you go – it’s about the stories you tell along the way.

“Our Roaming Travel Reporter will get paid to travel and share their epic adventures, shooting captivating content as they explore incredible destinations.”

Intrepid travellers – from seasoned nomads to first-time explorers – are invited to share their most creative travel content on their own TikTok or Instagram accounts using the hashtag #GreatestTravelJob.

Submissions are open from August 1-31 and will be judged by a panel of travel experts: Kerrie McCallum, Head of Travel at ESCAPE; Edwina Hart, ESCAPE's Social Media Editor; Paul Ryan, co-founder of Inspiring Vacations; and Tyson Mayr, TV presenter and travel content creator, whose career took off after winning his own ‘Greatest Job’ competition.

“Social media has levelled the playing field,” Tyson said. “Anyone with a phone and a story to tell can land this gig. We’re excited to find someone bold, creative, and unapologetically themselves.”

Following the rigorous selection process, ESCAPE will reveal to Australia who they will be signing as their Roaming Travel Reporter on October 5.

How to be in the running to land the gig:

• Create a 60–90 second vertical video (9:16) that details why YOU should land the job, showcasing your travel content and creativity in an original and engaging way
• Post it to TikTok or Instagram with #GreatestTravelJob
