MEETINGS 2025 Wraps Up with Style on Auckland’s Waterfront

New Zealand’s premier business events expo, MEETINGS 2025, concluded on a high note with an energetic waterfront celebration at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre. More than 700 guests gathered for the final night of what has become a cornerstone event in the Asia-Pacific events calendar.

Over two days, MEETINGS 2025 brought together more than 1,200 delegates, hosting a remarkable 8,000 one-on-one appointments at Auckland Showgrounds. The event served as both a networking powerhouse and a creative launchpad, giving organisers and suppliers a platform to collaborate, innovate and plan future events across the country.

 

A Showcase of Aotearoa's Hospitality and Heart

BEIA Chief Executive Lisa Hopkins praised the event’s atmosphere and the warm spirit that permeated every corner of the exhibition floor. From immersive regional activations to cultural showcases, the event spotlighted the diversity of experiences available across New Zealand.

Buyers from Australia and international markets expressed appreciation for the blend of creativity, professionalism, and heartfelt welcome shown by exhibitors. The social events also proved a hit, offering attendees a taste of uniquely Aotearoa hospitality.

 

Making Connections and Inspiring Creativity

First-time attendee Sarah Adams from TRIBE Travel and Events Australia reflected on the value of her time at MEETINGS. After exploring Auckland in the lead-up, she connected with numerous suppliers and venues across the show floor.

“There are lots of options and something different for groups from 100 to 1000, plus small incentive groups,” she said. “The regions all have a real sense of community, and venues and suppliers are open to being adaptable for bespoke events. If I can dream it, they can do it.”

Angela Webster of Fable Hotels and Resorts emphasised the convenience and opportunity of having the entire country under one roof. “MEETINGS reminds everyone how amazing New Zealand is. It’s all about connecting with new people, and reconnecting with others. Attending MEETINGS every year cements these valuable relationships,” she said.

 

A Regatta-Themed Night of Celebration

MEETINGS 2025 culminated in a vibrant closing celebration themed Regatta!, paying tribute to Auckland’s rich maritime legacy. Hosted in partnership with Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events, The Events Group, Urban Gourmet, and Flock Events, the evening was a dazzling combination of food, design, and entertainment.

The highlight of the night was a high-energy performance from Sonar Flare, New Zealand’s newest supergroup, featuring members of legendary bands like Opshop, Zed, and The Feelers. The celebration continued well into the night with the official after-party at QT Auckland’s rooftop bar.

 

Awarding Excellence on the Show Floor

The prestigious Meeting Newz Best Stand Awards 2025 recognised exhibitors who elevated their presentations to new heights. Winners included:

Best New Exhibitor – ROAM
Launched only 10 days before the show, ROAM’s stand drew long queues with an engaging and aromatic experience.

Millennium Hotels and Resorts

Best Individual Stand – Millennium Hotels and Resorts
Celebrated for their distinctive style and creativity as a long-standing exhibitor.

Best Regional Stand – Rotorua
Praised for their innovative, robe-themed experience promoting relaxation and wellness, underpinned by the region’s renowned manaakitanga.

 

Looking Ahead to MEETINGS 2026

Next year’s event promises to be even bigger, as MEETINGS 2026 is set to take place at the new New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) on 17 and 18 June. Lisa Hopkins noted, “This promises to be a landmark event for the industry, filling the expansive new venue with the best of what New Zealand has to offer.”
