Backstage Tour

The Backstage Tour has continued to shown popularity amongst visitors, providing behind the scenes access, anecdotes and fun facts of our House history.

From 14th September 2023, Thursdays will be added to Backstage Tour operations with this behind-the-scenes tour becoming available five consecutive days - Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon.

We are also pleased to announce that the included breakfast is now served in the Green room - exclusive domain of our cast and crew.

Midden by Mark Olive at Sydney Opera House

An exciting new restaurant has opened at Sydney Opera House. Set against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour, Midden by Mark Olive delivers a unique culinary experience drawing on Ambassador Chef, Mark Olive's, Indigenous Australian heritage.

The menu showcases vibrant, native Australian ingredients - from wattle seed and bush honey to saltbush and succulents, giving guests a real taste of millennia-old indigenous Australian history.

Midden by Mark Olive, which replaces Portside restaurant, is located in the Western Foyers. Your clients can enjoy this new restaurant as part of our Midden Experience Package.

Midden & Bennelong Experience Packages

With the exciting opening of Midden by Mark Olive, our Gold and Silver Experience Packages have been renamed as Bennelong and Midden Experience Packages.

An Experience Package allow guests to explore venues before they go live for the night on an 1-hour VIP guided tour. After the tour, guests will indulge in a two-course dining experience, served with two Australian wines or beers.

The Bennelong Experience Package is a feast for the senses: showcasing the flavour, diversity, and quality of Australian produce, food and wine within the sails of Australia's most iconic building.

The Midden Experience Package is a taste of what Sydney has to offer: delivering your clients an alfresco-style dining experience that heroes native Australian ingredients, and delivers uninterrupted harbourside views.

Guests can also add an upgrade to their evening by extending their night with a world-class performance at Sydney Opera House.
