FITUR 2015 will host the most innovative international proposals in nature, culture, gastronomy, shopping and health tourism

The latest and most innovative international proposals in culture, nature, sports, gastronomy, shopping and health tourism will come together at FITUR 2015, presented by companies, official bodies and institutions from across the globe. The 35th staging of the International Tourism Trade Show organised by IFEMA in Madrid from 28 January to 1 February will also host the largest tourism business and promotion forum worldwide, where new projects and businesses that will contribute to decisively dynamising the industry will be planned .

Nature will be one of the main proposals brought to FITUR 2015 by international exhibitors. Among them, Chile will showcase an important offering of tourist activities based on the diversity and contrasts of its landscapes, while Argentina will centre on a collection of 210 experiences, among which are hiking on glaciers, night-time tours of the Iguazú falls or the opening of trails such as the Huella Andina Expeditions. As for Brazil, it will showcase its charm for tourists, which is characterised by a pleasant tropical climate, exuberant beaches, a rich culture and a fascinating lifestyle. This country is already preparing to welcome thousands of tourists to the 2016 Olympic Games.

Colombia will take the opportunity offered by the Trade Show to promote its tourism diversity, marked by the traditions of its people and the inheritance of Spanish, indigenous and African customs, through its crafts, gastronomy, extreme sports and festivals. In addition, coinciding with the bicentenary of the Barranquilla Carnival, it will promote at FITUR the knowledge of each traditional dance, cumbiamba, comparsa or costume as a banner of the diversity that identifies the city. Canada, meanwhile, in addition to its important natural attractions, will exhibit its educational offering such as the study of languages, secondary and university studies, professional training, master’s and postgraduate degrees.

Germany will show off its cities and culture, leisure&relaxation, themed trips and events; Italy its art and history but also nature and landscape, spectacles, gastronomy, sports and health; Portugal its benign climate, 3,000 hours of sunlight per year and 850 km of splendid beaches washed by the Atlantic Ocean, in addition to its great diversity of landscapes, leisure, cultural heritage and gastronomy; Switzerland its nature, mountains and ski slopes, and also its culture, shopping and a gastronomy based on typical products such as cheeses and sausages. Russia, for its part, will unveil interesting proposals for travellers in a context characterised by its vast territory, rich historical and cultural heritage and the wild nature of many of its regions. Scotland will boast its historic castles, traditional Highland Games and beautiful lakes; Greece will exhibit its cultural possibilities and the beauty of its islands; and Belgium, among other proposals, will offer leisure activities, antiques markets, concerts and music festivals.

French Polynesia (Bora Bora, Moorea, Tahiti…), a dream destination in the Pacific Ocean, will showcase its natural landscapes, luxury hotels and a comprehensive range of aquatic activities such as snorkelling, diving, sailing or surfing. And the Egyptian coastlines (Red Sea, White Mediterranean and Sinai) will also offer sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and water-skiing. Turkey’s stand at FITUR will have exhibitions of traditional crafts and its visitors will enjoy a Turkish coffee, a drink listed by Unesco as Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Shopping tourism will also be included in the proposals of territories such as Russia and United States as well as China, Japan, Mexico, Brazil and the Gulf countries, important destinations in the luxury segment. The trade show will actually be launching a new section, FITUR SHOPPING, which is dedicated to this segment and will contribute to consolidate it. And among the new international proposals presented by some exhibitors is health tourism, a rising segment also represented for the first time and in a special format at the Trade Show through FITUR HEALTH.

Wide variety of operators

The offering of tour operators, hotels and other tourism-related businesses at FITUR 2015 will also be comprehensive. Among others, Nueva Zelanda Viajes/Australia Alternativa, an agency specialising in bespoke travel to Oceania and its islands, will propose a trip to the Antipodes to visitors to its stand. Excursiones Riviera Maya (Mayan Riviera Excursions) will offer its tourist services in this Mexican territory to wholesalers, retailers and general public. The German DMC Miller Incoming will showcase its specialised offering for the markets of America, Portugal and Spain. And Victoriatour, a professional tour operator based in Hanoi (capital of Vietnam) will use the Trade Show as a platform to extend its market to Spanish-speaking countries, offering them private and bespoke travel to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.

Meanwhile, Ratpanat by Sura Afrika will show its luxury safaris in Kenya, Tanzania and Botswana. The Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs Group will promote its new holiday apartments in Andorra. Zoomarine is an invitation to leisure in one of the best theme parks in Portugal. Catur Viajes y Expediciones in Indonesia will present its new ships in Borneo and Komodo. The DMC Indochina Strings will offer its high-end, incentives and pleasure travel packages for European and Latin American markets. And Milan Tours will present its novelties as a destination managing company operating from the United Arab Emirates for the world.

The transport sector will also be extensively represented, with companies such as Qatar Airways, which will report an increase in connections between Madrid and Doha (capital of Qatar), with a growing number of travellers from the Asia-Pacific region. Silon Aviación, in turn, a sales agent in Spain and Portugal, will present the latest novelties in its portfolio of represented flagship carriers, among them the largest in China and Asia, China Southern Airlines, and the Taiwan flagship carrier, China Airlines, as well as Hong Kong Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Myanmar Airways International and Arkia Israeli Airlines.

Businesses, organisms and institutions from across the globe will find at FITUR 2015 the best of all exhibition scenarios, offering its participants a unique space for promoting and marketing their latest tourist products as well as an area aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the tourist industry thanks to a comprehensive programme of conferences, panels of experts, workshops and activities.
