Tickets are now on sale to see Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May host the fastest and loudest Top Gear Festival ever at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April (9am-6pm).
It seems the others have had a hand in getting Richard to join them for a weekend of adrenaline fuelled, motoring mayhem, with Richard remarking” Jeremy and James have always told me what a brilliant laugh it is putting on the Top Gear Festival in Sydney. Normally I don’t trust a word they say, but I believe them on this one and, just to make sure, I’m coming along to the Festival for the first time.”
Clarkson, who has starred in the last two massive festivals, seemed enthusiastic about the news …sort of,“For the first time all three of us will be there, James and Richard and I. Bring a pair of binoculars if you want to see Hammond and a calendar to measure May’s lap times.”
James May added, "We love coming to Sydney for the Top Gear Festival. And this year will be better than ever, because, for the first time, we're bringing Professor Richard Hammond and his enormous intellect. To balance that out, we'll have to stick a big Holden Ute in there somewhere, doing circle work and making smoke, driven by a proper Brocky. Have I got that right?"
The Top Gear Festival is all about non-stop action and excitement featuring some ridiculous stunts, races and challenges across the weekend. In addition to all this there will be surprise special guests and of course the Stig, not to mention a healthy dose of competitive spirit between Jeremy, Richard and James with the calamitous mucking about synonymous with the TV programme.
Chris Secker, Festival Director of Top Gear Festival Sydney said, “The Festival is all about non-stop action, stunts, races, challenges, surprise guests and of course the Stig. Fans can expect plenty of riotous mucking around from their hosts. It’s about bringing to life some of the best elements of the Top Gear program - such a monumental success the world over - and raising the competition, laughs and adrenalin levels.”
A move to the April school holidays means the Festival can be enjoyed by fans of all ages. With ticket prices starting at just $49 for adults, the Festival is great value with family packages also available from $119. Fans are encouraged to book their grandstand seats early to ensure the best view of all the action.
If you're driving to the Festival it’s best to purchase your parking tickets through Ticketek prior to arriving, to get in quickly without too many speed bumps.
Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said, “Fans of the show will be delighted to hear that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have all confirmed their attendance at the event on 18 and 19 April 2015. All motorsports enthusiasts should come along to Sydney Motorsport Park to enjoy the fantastic entertainment and to experience the thrill of Top Gear first hand.”
“Destination NSW partnered with the Australian Racing Drivers’ Club (ARDC) to secure the Top Gear Festival exclusively for Sydney for three years from 2013 to 2015. It is an event that attracts thousands of visitors to Western Sydney, showcasing this wonderful area and providing a boost to local businesses and the economy,” she said.
