Carnival Cruise Line Sets Sail from Melbourne in 2027: A New Era of Cruising for Victorians

Melbourne
In an exciting new development for cruise enthusiasts, Carnival Cruise Line is bringing the joy of cruising to the Victorian capital. Starting in 2027, Melbourne will become a key departure point for Carnival's newest ship, Carnival Adventure, offering an array of fantastic voyages from the heart of Victoria. This will be the first time that Carnival Cruise Line offers direct sailings from Melbourne, giving Victorians the opportunity to embark on unforgettable holidays at sea without the need to fly.

Introducing Carnival Adventure: Your New Cruise Companion

Carnival Adventure, one of the newest additions to the Carnival fleet, will be homeported in Melbourne for a month in 2027, marking a milestone for the cruise line’s operations in Australia. This state-of-the-art ship will offer a wide variety of exciting itineraries, ranging from short getaways to longer cruises, all designed to provide an unforgettable cruising experience.

The ship will first set sail from Singapore in March 2027, embarking on a spectacular 16-day journey through some of Asia’s most culturally rich and diverse destinations, including Malaysia and Bali. After that, Carnival Adventure will make its way to Western Australia, before arriving in Melbourne, where it will offer a series of four spectacular voyages departing directly from the city.

The Melbourne Sailings: Convenient and Exciting Getaways

Once in Melbourne, Carnival Adventure will offer four voyages for locals to enjoy, with each one providing a unique experience at sea. The itineraries include:

  • March 24, 2027: 6-day Melbourne round trip, visiting Port Lincoln, Kangaroo Island, and Adelaide
  • March 30, 2027: 4-day Melbourne round trip to Kangaroo Island
  • April 3, 2027: 4-day Melbourne round trip to Kangaroo Island
  • April 7, 2027: 2-day one-way cruise to Sydney, perfect for those looking for a quick and easy escape

These sailings offer a mix of scenic coastal cruising, with visits to some of Australia's most stunning destinations, including the iconic Kangaroo Island. Whether you're a first-time cruiser or an experienced traveller, these short cruises are the perfect way to experience the magic of the sea without the need for long-haul flights.

A Game-Changer for Cruising in Australia

Carnival Adventure
Carnival Cruise Line’s decision to homeport Carnival Adventure in Melbourne is a game-changer for the Australian cruise industry, particularly for those in Victoria. As Kara Glamore, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Carnival Cruise Line Australia, noted, “We know Victorians are passionate about cruising and have been calling for more options to sail from their home state. This is about offering Victorians the chance to enjoy a fun and affordable holiday without the hassle or cost of flying.”

These new sailings will make it even easier for locals to take a cruise without the added stress of traveling long distances to other ports. This expansion also signals the growing popularity of cruising in Australia, as Carnival Cruise Line prepares to launch even more ships in the region, including Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter, which will join the Carnival fleet in March 2027.
