On October 19, Thong Nhat Hall, the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam and the Institute for Economic and Tourism Development Research jointly organized a destination promotion communication forum with the theme "Convergence of identities, elevation of heritage" at the historical site of the Independence Palace.
Mr. Tran Huu Phuoc, Acting Director of the Reunification Hall, said that this is an important forum to introduce the unique values of the two special national monuments. This is also an opportunity to exchange and learn from experiences to better promote destinations, attract the attention of global tourists and enhance the image of Vietnam's heritage brand.
According to Mr. Tran Huu Phuoc, Thong Nhat Hall is the unit that manages, preserves and promotes the value of the Independence Palace historical site. Over the years, the Independence Palace historical site has been the choice of many tourists when coming to Ho Chi Minh City, especially international tourists.
The exhibition room "From Norodom Palace to Independence Palace 1868 - 1966" alone has welcomed nearly 350,000 visitors each year since it opened in March 2018.
At the Forum, Mr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, shared about the experience activity "Night of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam". This activity is in the testing phase with the aim of enhancing the heritage.
Accordingly, "The Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy Night" introduces the quintessence of the tradition of studiousness, respect for teachers, and appreciation of talents. The special feature is that visitors can experience the Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy through activities applying 3D Mapping technology.
Promote and connect heritage values
Mr. Ta Duy Linh, Director of the Institute for Economic and Tourism Development Research, shared that this Forum not only provides an in-depth perspective on history and culture but also plays a role in orienting, promoting and connecting heritage values: The cooperation between Thong Nhat Hall and the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam contributes to raising awareness of the importance of heritage conservation and sustainable development.According to Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Thu Hien, Advisor to the Institute for Economic Development and Tourism Research, it is necessary to preserve heritage by reviving, honoring and adding to its value. This is the way to enrich heritage.
Experts at the Forum also highly appreciated the new approach of the Reunification Hall regarding the exhibition room "From Norodom Palace to Independence Palace 1868 - 1966" or the night experience activity of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, contributing to the preservation of heritage, reviving heritage as well as increasing interesting experiences for visitors, thereby helping the heritage develop sustainably.
Mr. Tran Huu Phuoc added that in the coming time, the Reunification Hall plans to digitize the exhibition space and artifacts; apply technology in displaying and interpreting information to bring the public historical stories and new experience spaces, bringing the Independence Palace closer to young people.
Also at the Forum, Thong Nhat Hall and the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two sides, contributing to making these two special national relics known to many people.
