Amelia Island, the barrier island in Northeast Florida, has been voted Number 3 Top US Island in the annual Readers’ Choice Awards from Condé Nast Traveller, for the second consecutive year.

The Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running recognition of excellence in the travel industry. 

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and Omni Amelia Island Resort, were voted No. 6 and No. 9 respectively among the Top Resorts Florida. 

Amelia Island, some 13 miles long and 2 miles wide, is located on the north-eastern tip of Florida. It offers long stretches of quiet beach, natural beauty and seaport character. 

There are upscale resorts, championship golf courses and fine dining with a captivating collection of bed and breakfast inns and historic districts. Fernandina Beach, once a Victorian seaport village, has a downtown district of eclectic shops and eateries.
