The Indian Pacific has been crossing the Nullarbor and traversing the world's longest stretch of straight railway track for over 50 years, with guests spending three nights on board as they cross the continent. From 2025, the Indian Pacific's eastbound journey will be extended to four nights, with new immersive Off Train Experiences and more opportunities to discover Australia by train.
The new Indian Pacific itinerary will operate year-round from January 2025. Departing Perth, the Indian Pacific will stop for immersive Off Train Experiences in Kalgoorlie, Cook, the Barossa Valley, Broken Hill and the Blue Mountains before reaching its final destination of Sydney. The new itinerary also introduces a signature dining experience at Seppeltsfield Barossa that promises to be spectacular. The menu, accompanied by local wines, will be curated by Executive Chef Owen Andrews, with Journey Beyond delivering the little touches that will make this a special experience.
The new Gold Premium announced by Journey Beyond as available on The Ghan and Great Southern for 2024 will also launch on the Indian Pacific in 2025. Sitting between Gold and Platinum, Gold Premium is a new style of travel with premium inclusions paired with contemporary Australian cabin and carriage designs and exclusive access to the Gold Premium Lounge and Gold Premium Dining.

A selection of Journey Beyond's most popular holiday packages will be released as part of this launch, including several packages that pair a journey by train and all-inclusive touring with Outback Spirit. This includes the Red Centre Spectacular, Ultimate Territory Tour, and a new pairing of The Ghan with Outback Spirit's Arnhem Land Wilderness Adventure, called Arnhem Land Adventure.
In addition to these iconic packages, guests can extend their experience with City Discovery packages available at the end destination of every journey, whether it's Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney or Darwin.
