ITE HCMC 2023: Expecting breakthrough solutions to accelerate and sustainably develop Vietnam tourism

Under the theme "Connectivity, Growth, Sustainability", ITE HCMC 2023 is expected to provide breakthrough solutions to help Vietnam tourism accelerate and develop sustainably, contributing to promoting the beautiful image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends. This is information provided by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism at the Press Conference that took place on 15th August.

The 17th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City - ITE HCMC 2023 will be held in 3 days, from 7th to 9th September 2023 at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. This is one of the important events to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City to domestic and international tourists; creating opportunities for travel and tourism businesses to reconnect, creating a better supply and demand.

ITE HCMC 2023 will expand its scale compared to 2022. ITE HCMC 2023 is expected to attract over 400 participating units and brands. In which, 30 units and brands come from international tourism promotion agencies: Cambodia, Chile, Taiwan (China), Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, St. Petersburg City (Russia), Seoul (Korea). ITE HCMC 2023 specially launches the International Buyer programme, providing an opportunity for international tourism businesses wishing to expand their markets, bring tourists to Vietnam, as well as find tourism partners in Vietnam and the Lower Mekong region. The Expo receives the attention of more than 550 international tourism businesses and invites over 150 international buyers from more than 31 countries and territories: USA, Australia, New Zealand, China, Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia, Germany, UK, France, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Belgium, Austria Croatia, Romania, Armenia, Russia, India, Turkey, South Africa, Gulf countries (Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia) and the key inbound and the potential tourism markets of Vietnam tourism.

In the framework of ITE HCMC 2023, chain of events connecting and developing tourism to take place: A meeting programme between international buyers and exhibitors; High-Level Tourism Forum with the theme "Digital transformation promoting tourism development" chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) and Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; Forum on ASEAN Public Relations and Communication “Destination Marketing and Sustainable Communication”, along with series of specialised tourism seminars and the ITE HCMC Award 2023, the World Travel Awards Asia and Oceania 2023… ITE HCMC 2023 promises to open more than 6,000 B2B trade appointments between buyers and exhibitors; receives the attention and support of more than 50 domestic media partners, 20 international press agencies and KOLs from 8 countries: USA, Australia, Spain, Portugal, China, Turkey, Philippines, and Malaysia. ITE HCMC 2023 is expected to welcome tens of thousands of visitors, international buyers and exhibitors to exchange and explore breakthrough development opportunities in the new period.

According to Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the new adjustments in visa policy have created favourable conditions for international tourists to come to Vietnam. ITE HCMC 2023 will focus on promoting commercial activities to connect with key tourism markets as well as expand new markets. In addition, providing solutions to build and renew products in a longer-term direction, in order to meet the demands of markets with high affordability and long-stay visitors; professionalise tourism promotion, improve the efficiency of destination management… With large-scale and scientific investment, Vietnam tourism will quickly make a breakthrough, develop with focus points, contributing to turning tourism into a spearhead economic sector.
